Bill O’Reilly Warns the ‘War on Christmas’ Is Upon Us
Here’s Fox News Channel’s chief demagogue and tub thumper marching off to his annual culture war again. Bill thinks Christmas is for hectoring and spitting at secular society and non christians, and every year he drags out his tired and tattered version of Christian victimhood.
When people say “Happy Holidays” they are typically including things like Winter Solstice, Hannukah, and New Year’s, not just Christmas. So WIlliam, just because Hannukah is over that doesn’t mean that the “holidays” are.
As someone who grew up in the far north I find it important to celebrate that moment on 12/21 when the Northern Hemisphere of our planet stops its recession towards the cold and dark and turns into its procession into warmth and light. It’s a big deal in my home town of Fairbanks, and there’s nothing religious about it for most. Then there’s New Year’s, and let’s not even forget Thanksgiving, which bookends the start of the year end Holiday season whether you like it or not.
Bill wants to exclude all those other holidays, making it just about his favored religion and its major holiday, which is not what the holiday season is about.
